School clusters

September 29, 2012

There is increasing interest in clusters of schools. Many clusters are a mix of four or more primary and secondary schools working toward a coherent, seamless P-12 curriculum.

Among the best examples of clusters that we have seen comprise developments over time toward:

  • Joint governance and shared leadership and principalships
  • Common learning goals, strategies, facilities and resources
  • A shared framework for 21st century teaching and learning.

See our P-12 education paper which discusses clusters. As well, the Country Education Project has wonderful resources in relation to clusters. Visit the CEP website. Further, if you would like more information or if you want to be part of a team to discuss clusters, e-mail or phone VICCSO.
